A small municipality that rests quietly in the wonderful Simcoe County can be found filled to the brim with plenty of culture and friendly locals. This one in particular is Adjala – Tosorontio. This beautiful municipality was founded and built, but not initially inaugurated as a municipality of Ontario until January 1st, 1994. At such a time (and even before that, back in the 1820s) that the municipality was not inaugurated, the First Nations people initially lived here, and were mostly driven out upon the arrival and settling of the Catholic Irish. One very nice concept about this municipality is just how tightly-knit this entire community is, from one of its small towns to another: everyone knows and adores everyone down here, and by extension, they extend that attention and warmth to their visitors.
The location of Adjala – Tosorontio offers to those living there the chance to be able to experience the countryside of southern Ontario in a way that is nearly impossible to do in the big city. To top that off, one who lives in Adjala – Tosorontio can have the benefit of living in such residential structures as good-sized family homes, detached houses, townhomes, semi-detached houses and bungalows, all of which form this tightly-knit neighborhood where most of these homes are within a suitable walking distance to one of the fabulous walking/hiking trails that run all over the place. These walking trails include such ones as Veteran’s Park, Pine Park, Dekker Street Park, Central Park, Ross Houston, Lisle Memorial Park, Rosemont Community Park, Haley Park, Weca Park, and even a playground called Wardens Park.
Another popular attraction in this area is the John O. Irwin Ball Diamond, where many locals gather to watch a game or two of baseball. You will also thoroughly enjoy having access to no less than 8 varying schools (public & Catholic) that offer a unique but still balanced education. Your kid(s) (if you have any) will be able to go from Grade 1 to 12 here. Also, when it comes to a time when you might desire to go traveling into the big city of Toronto itself, you will not have very far to travel, as by taking a drive to the east along Highway 89 through New Tecumseth for a short distance, you will come to the Highway 400, which, if you travel south on the 400, will bring you right into Toronto’s northern areas. If you should follow the 400 past where it becomes Black Creek Dr. and down Keele St. to Keele’s end, you will be right on the western outskirts of downtown Toronto.
